All Glory to God For Bringing a Mother and Daughter Together
The Abundant Life Chronicles honors the experience, hope and love of those who have overcome great obstacles to tell their story of triumph! It is their story and God’s faithfulness. Today, it is a privilege to share the testimony of Renee Martinez-Beltran who, by faith, praises God for her victory over abandonment.
Renee is the founder of The Sisterhood Ministry and host of Sister to Sister.
Many thanks to Renee for boldly sharing her testimony.
This is Renee’s Testimony: About 10 years ago my mother got into drugs and abandoned me and my siblings. We lost our home and all us kids were separated. I was in my senior year that year. I finished school and then moved to Maryland to better my life. My two sisters moved to Cali with family. My little brother stayed in Vegas with friends. During that time, it was really hard for me. I craved attention, had piercings, was depressed and I hated my mother. But God! 6 years later I found Christ in my depression and gave my life to him. And in that moment, I let go of all the pain and forgave my mother for everything. I started praying for her and for God to move in her life. A year later I decided to leave the toxic relationship I was in but I needed help taking care of my son. The Holy Spirit moved and said to move my mother to MD. Everyone was against it. They would tell me it’s not a good idea. She’s doing drugs. But I told them what God said and I’m obedient to his voice over yours.
She moved to MD and got clean. When she came she would tell me how there was something different about me. That I wasn’t the same. It was the Jesus in me that she saw. Everyday I would invite her to church, read scripture to her, even brought home a bible for her. She would deny at first but eventually she decided to come to church with me and she gave her life to Christ.
A few months later we got baptized together. All glory to God for bringing a daughter and mother back together after all the heartache and having them get baptized together.
September 25, 2020 marked 4 years since we got baptized together and that my mother has been cleaned and has given her life to Christ.
I just want to encourage those who might be praying for someone they love. Keep praying. It might be your prayers that God is using to keep that person covered. Keep being an example of Christ love. It’s the Christ in you that might bring someone closer to Him
